That's where "Better Zits" comes in. We take only the punchline of your so-so daily strip and change it into something...else. Zits is bettered by Madeline Queripel, Alex Horab, and Toby Jones. The actual comic belongs to those other guys.
Jeremy's dad looks terrifyingly like Marvin in a couple of those panels. It's the rictus of a grin on his face.
